Workspace
Important: Please note that workspace accounts
do not provide access to restricted content. They are used for the
sole purpose of allowing individuals within the same institution to customise
the product.
The Handbook web application can be customised in a number of ways.
These customisations are saved in your personal workspace so that
they can be loaded the next time you use the Handbook web application.
- If you use an individual user sign in to the Handbook then your
personal workspace is already loaded and you need take no further
action.
- If you are signed in via IP, for example if you are accessing the
Handbook from a computer in an organisation that has a site-wide subscription,
then you must sign in to your own personal workspace before you can
use these features.
Your personal workspace allows you to:
- Customise the chemical search screen. Any searchable fields
you've added/removed will be remembered.
- Save searches. Any search terms/structures entered in the
chemical search screen can be saved. You can save as many as
you wish and re-load them to perform the same search in future, or
use as the basis for a new search.
- Automatically save search terms entered in the document search
screen.
Creating a Workspace
You only need to create a workspace if:
- You access the Handbook web application via a computer that has
a site licence and therefore doesn't require you to have your own
personal sign in details.
- You have not previously created one for a ChemNetBase product.
To create a workspace:
- In the top menu (desktop mode) or via the multi-menu button
(mobile mode) click the user icon
- Click Workspace sign in and select the option to create a workspace.
- Enter your details and click create. You will be automatically
signed in with your new workspace account.
